Baylor University Medical Center - Recent AwardsFor the 16th consecutive year, U.S. News & World Report designated Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas (BUMC) among the nation's top 50 hospitals in five categories in its 2008 "America's Best Hospitals" issue. BUMC is ranked among the nation's top 50 hospitals in endocrinology (32nd); gynecology (35th); kidney disease (30th); orthopaedics (33rd); and respiratory disorders (35th). Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation is ranked 13th among the nation's top rehabilitation facilities. For the 12th consecutive year BUMC has earned the 2007/2008 Consumer Choice Award by the National Research Corporation (NRC) for the Dallas region. The Consumer Choice Award is given to the hospitals that consumers have chosen as having the highest quality and image in 186 markets throughout the U.S. This is the 12th year NRC has recognized and honored Consumer Choice Award winners and the 12th occasion that consumers have chosen BUMC for these awards. BUMC earned the Magnet Award for "Excellence in Nursing" from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. BUMC was ranked tops in 2007 for mommies and babies, according to the December issue of Dallas Child magazine. Readers ranked BUMC the best hospital to have a baby, to meet other moms, the best place for unique baby gifts, breastfeeding-friendly workplace and parent/baby classes. Whether it is preparing, having or caring for your babies, says Dallas Child, BUMC "takes the cake" according to readership votes. |
